10 Facades and Walls featuring Exterior and Contemporary Interior Design

I wanted to explore the surfaces and facades of buildings because there have been fascinating facades which have been produced recently.  the first place to look at is China.

1) Romanticism Shop Wall Shanzou, China

This is a  beautiful shop facade by SAKO architects, it is completely original with its net structure which is used both on the exterior and the interior.  I love the constancy of the the whole design and its minimal feel.  The use of glass and the colour white is spectacular and I love the seats and the shape , look at the way magazine rack works.

2)  Taliesin Modern Fabricated house

This is part of a student project and the reason I included this is that there have been new levels of creativity when it comes to fabricated buildings and there has been positive changes away fronm the old cheap and cheerful image of fabricated buildings.

The Taliesin Mod.FabTM was designed and built by graduate and undergraduate students at the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture with the faculty guidance of Michael P. Johnson and Jennifer Siegal, project manager Christian Butler, recent M.Arch graduate, and assistant project manager Nick Mancusi, current BAS student.

I love the colours which have been introduced, red white and a touch of black work well as a combination, the minimalist look also complements the contemporary feel.

I have yet to do full justice to the prefabricated buildings one of these days there will be a post on the wonders of this technique in its own right.

3 Salon Mittermeier Facade

Salon Mittermeier Facade by X Architekten

X Architekten this is the facade for the hairdresser which is based in Linz, Austria.  The facade works well because it makes a statement about the nature of hairdressing and it also draws attention of the visitor and gives a little bit of privacy to those who are inside the building.

Please notice the way it adapts to the night, it is stil very stylish.

4 Salt Barn Conversion Turkey

The Istanbul, Turkey based Erginoglu & Calislar Architects

Okay we have seen barn conversion being restored in the modernist style and there is a post about modern office designs below.

I love the ceiling and the way it contrast with the old structure of stone,  It is a very appealing as an open plan office and the use of glass is perfect for the settings.  My personal favourite feature is the black door arches.

5) Conga Rooms Los Angeles Walls

Belzberg Architects designed Conga Rooms in Los Angeles is example of how light can be used in a nightclub in many interesting ways.  there is a beautiful merger of light with walls and that there is a hole where light seems to emit from.

6) Office Facade Tokyo

This was just another glass exterior which was transformed by the use of a facade to an interesting building,the straps which give the office a feel that you are being looked at by someone behind the glass.  There is a picture of Malcolm X looking behind a curtain carrying a machine gun and this has the same effects.

7  Rooso Restaurant Ceiling and Interior Design

SO Architecture have designed this restaurant in Northern Israel and it is there to capture the atmosphere of the undulating fields of Israel.  Look at what is depicted on the pictures in the restaurant and see the exquisite green striped wall paper and compare them with green fams .  The ceiling is inspired by the farm fields when they are .  The contours of the groves in the ceiling are similar to the exterior of the Austrian hairdresser we featured above.

The c lours used on the table and the chairs also capture the changing seasons, with the green, orange and black and white chairs and tables.  remember the office interiors we did a little while back?

8 Bear Cave Ceiling

French architect Paul Coudamy designed this bear cave of an office , this is a very disturbing place and it was designed to show a natural vortex but really this a mad space, it is commissioned by Internet company.

8  Flat Pack  Shop

SAKO Architects has designed this store for a software application of mobile phone, look at the neon like and and the use of orange and yellow to divide the uniform white surroundings.  It is also inspired by a cave like feel, although a high- tech one.

9 SwissNex Shangai Red an White Office Interior
