Whether you are a man or a female you grew up reading books on Medieval castles and knights, at when you look at castles you have fond memories. It has been a joy compiling all these pictures of great castles, In a way I do not have many famous castles like Warwick Castle. I wish there was time to go into the history of some of the middle age castles.
Puebla Mexico Castle
Mexico is not the first place you think of when it comes to Castles is it? But because of the Spanish influence you can see why they can have such a wonderful castle.

These is a magical photograph, catching both the snow and the rainbow, it is rumoured that Disney modelled its castle on this place, the snow definitely enhances the scenery. We have covered a number of German Castles on this issue.

This is a King Von Ludwig II childhood home, I have decided that snow goes well with castles.
The Castle Trakošćan, Croatia
Croatia has always been a very beautiful part of the world, it is good to see that this castle survived the worst of the civil wars and even Communism.
Eilian Donan Catle, Scotland
It was first fortified in the 13th Century and has to be restored over the years, you can almost tell that it is British by its functionality. It is not like the Spanish castle is it?
Culzean Castle, Ayr Scotland
This is the work of Robert Adams it is protected by the National Trust, it is a very beautiful garden, but do not expect it to be bathed in sunshine like this one.
Himeji Castle, Japan
It is also called Shirasagijo or White Heron Castle, It is a breath taking place, the contrast between face brick and white painting make this a truly spectacular example of an oriental architechture and Japanese castles.

Castle Tarascon, France
image
It was built started in 1401 by Louis II of Anjou, and after serving a time as a military prison it is now owned by the State. In Britain It would have been in private hands, the river, rock and construction combination is great.
Castle Appin Castle Scotland
Many of these Scottish Castle were made for wars and not just for show, you can see why taking this Island would be important strategically for an invading army.
Werfen Castle, Austria
It kind of reminds me of ” The Sound Of Music”, you have to love the mountains in Austria and Germany and to have this castle at the top.
Castle Toscan, Crotia
The trees and the river really allows this Castle to shine.
Rochester Castle, England
Cathedrals can add a lot of character to these buildings, although the castle is rather ordinary from this angle it becomes a great spectacle.
Maruševec Castle, Crotia
This is one of my favourite, I love what they have done with the roof. It is easy to see why the countryside is so emotive.
Castle Predjama Slovenia.
This castle is connected to caves on the other side, I do not like the flags, they detract frome the view.
Castle De Haar, Holland
It has character but I just wish it had been face lifted but then you would lose the history.
Burg/ Elz Catle, Germany
I like the red and white touches, the views must be great from inside must be breath taking. Are any of the Castles for Sale? You have a subprime buyer in me.
