After studying container homes for years Mike Corvi bought a container which was used only twice before being retired and then with a help of a skilled buider and friends, he build this stylish home for a total cost of $9000 dollars.

The beauty of containers is that you can stack them on top of each other and as long as the foundations are safe and sound the sky is the limit.

5 Wood Panelled Container Style Home

Why should container houses have a steel exterior and why can the interior design not be exciting, Infiski the architects have tried to solve that problem.

The sky is the limit, but I do not like thefact that some of these elaborate designs have become as expensive as a newly built house.

6 Paul Stankey Container Shipping House

Thus is one of my favourite designs, it is so quirky and unusual and the basic structure is to take two containers and raise the
middle structure with a sliding roof and then the fun begins. Paul Stankey has had the guts to create something very unique and he should be congradulated and thanked.

7 Swedish Prefab Micro House

I like this container or prefab house with a twist, it refuses to be constrained by the squares and strikes out, it is built in sweden and the idea is that people can live with less and that can be seen in the interior design.

Looking at these designs, you can see how useful , they can be in countries with hign property prices, but can you get planning permission for these houses ?

the price is a bit too steep at the moment hopefully it will come down as production increases. Some people might feel that this is an innovation too far, but this is only the start of the manipulation of the technology and it could be a mine of new ideas. I for one can see this working in interior design as one application.

Switzerland Underground House

SeARCH and Christian Muller Architects have worked on this house to overcome the problem of planing permission, house is unintrusive as it can possibly be and also gives you wondrful views of the mountains.

I like the round house feel it has created and the beauty is that it retains all the facilities of a moodern house, but you know it must have hard to build.

You can always tell when a house is built be an architect firm, it just has a different feel from onne which is designed by an interior design expert or a layman.

Lans Contzen:How to use colours

I sm not a big fan of the interior design ideas which are prevalent today, because I think there should be adventure and greater expiments, I know the bling look has its fans but in ten years time we will be tired of that look. In away I already am, there are people who insist that there is only one way to tackle colour.
