Vintage War Propaganda Posters
Sometimes memorabilia can transport you to the times even though you have not lived through them and that was the feeling I had when I was researching these posters. I can now appreciate why certain people like to collect Vintage propaganda posters.
This American World War 2 Propaganda poster makes a big contrast with the Soviet Union simply because it is based on Values l rather than in one man like Stalin below.
Well this begs a question did Stalin want to be loved or feared, a bit of both?

This free educational poster is so heart warming, just because it tries to reassuare mothers left behind with children.
This is a recent parody of the propaganda poster, it is a good one.
You really get to appreciate the different propaganda methods and advertising techniques employed at the time.
Winston Churchill really liked his role as a motivator during War time,
This a cool piece of Cold War propaganda , even if you do not know the language you get the message.
In Case you did or know.
This Educational poster has a serious message but it can it risks giving nightmares to housewives.

This is a British motivational advert, it really conveys how imortant Britain attached to the USA entering the War on their side.
This is another satirical recent reworking of the propaganda poster.
If you know the full story of Joe Loius this is a saddening post because the internal Revenue Service came after him saying he did not pay taxes for a troops fund raiser.
The rudest little poster, I guess it was there to as a demotivator poster.
Charming, but this how advertising is used to shape public opinion and prepare for wars.
In case you did not know?
Children in Britain were sent to the countryside during the war.

At least the considered the pigs, a clever edutional poster. ![]()

I read this entire post on my Blackberry. It was that interesting!
Lame. Your bias is showing; you give as much credence to the parody posters as you do the historical ones. As for the “cool” CPLA poster I notice that Taiwan is equated with Nazis and Imperial Japan; yes, I know it’s propaganda, but don’t be so impressed by pretty colours.
Oh yeah; where are the “losers” posters? You think Homeland Security is heavy handed …
Oh, and fire your editor; too many obvious typos.
Get out of the kitchen if you can’t stand the heat.
Great collections and highly informative.

Hey, now, Michael. I’ll admit I don’t agree with a lot of the posters either (that first one fails to acknowledge quite a few points of embarrassment in American history). But, from an artistic and psychological standpoint, it was fascinating and highly educational.
Bravo!
nice collection – but the `parodies’ don’t belong here.
The `help me kill terrorists…’ is in fact just a propaganda poster posting as `parody’
@Teasatips thank you.
@ Michael this is not really a political blog. But do you know that Osama Bin Laden is dead, according to former Prime minister of Pakistan? You can look forever for a dead man.
Truth is the first casualty of war.
Michael doesn’t know crap from Shinola. If the guy has a serious point he doesn’t know how to make it.
Whaddya expect from someone who can’t figure out the difference between the sado/national/fascist/ post-war Taiwanese government, the Stalinist Soviet Union and pre-war Imperial Japan. I guess when you live in the kitchen sink anything makes sense…
You’re fired fella.
@Robwerval This a stress free zone, we do not do politics.
@admin: Then don’t make it political by sticking in left-wing’d parodies.
Vintage means old. Parodies of old propaganda posters over the current conflict don’t make the grade.
Aside from that and the glaring spelling and grammar errors, this might actually get to be a good blog post…maybe.
